Hello

My dad died when i was only 3 he has been to the doctors twice in his lifetime 1 for a nail problem and second time which was for pains in his chest the day after he visited the doctors he died of pancreatic cancer. :'(

My mum was smoking since the age of 6 she is now 72 and was smoking around 80 a day until about 5 years ago then around 10 - 40 a day, That was until last year when she had a fall and nearly died of blood clots her lungs as she has only about 1 lung left and it scared the crap out her they showed her a video and from the 1st oct this year its 1 year and no ciggies  ;D i am well pleased with mum

I am just as bad as my father i rarely bother the doctor and my arthrtis is getting worst year on year but nothing can be done as i am too young only 34 the only thing is pills and i am not a pill popper the last lot of tablets really make feel bad.

I must admit i don't drink that often and never smoked tried it at 13 say tried it i was forced by a school bully and was ill for 2-3 weeks and never again.

I know i hate doctors but if something is wrong get it checked out you may never know

I have been infected by the "rose virus"  ... I have surrendered to my addiction gracefully. There's no recovery"   On the other hand, imagine life without roses – a dreadful thought!

My old nan smoked all her life, and lived to 76.  Mind you, she spent the last 20 housebound because the fags gave her leg ulcers, poor circulation and eventually amputation of her toes so she couldn't walk.  She spent the last miserable 5 years of her life confined to a chair because she couldn't walk.

My old mum is going the same way ... 40 a day, hacks up a lungful of tar every morning.

Father-in-law: (smoker) ignored his symptoms last year, finally went to doc last month: cancer

My old man is 4 stone overweight, can't be bothered to diet & exercise. He can't even get dressed in the morning without having a mini-seizure, he's that unfit.

You gotta look after yourself.

Anti smoking, Anti drinking, healthy eating, you must exercise and so on. Have you ever seen a Doctor on a bike or the smoking nurse out jogging.
When at the Doctors you are asked how many fags a day you smoke we all tell lies don,t we " Oh only about 10 a day " as if.  How much do you drink, " ERR about six pints a week"  you actualy meant to say night, Do you exercise  "I go for a walk every day"  What you don,t say is you go for a walk to the pub every day for a pint, have a smoke  and pie and chips.
After being asked about smoking i said i suck a lot of boiled sweets so i don,t smoke so much, the reply you should really eat fruit said the nurse.  Have you ever made an apple last as long as a Black Bullet, also its cheaper to smoke than to buy fruit these days, is it she said. Guess she does not buy fruit.
I have every intention of being arrested for rape at the age of 100 or at least attempted rape.
Or die in good health a bit earlier.

When you wake up on a morning say "good morning world" and be grateful

I love to hear all these stories about patients that I never realise that I have!

I am forever telling patients to keep away from doctors unless absolutely necessary but my advice is seldom heeded and many end up with "iatrogenic" illness which means that they have illnesses caused by treatment.

Unfortunately the government is fining GPs who do not get patients in to be weighed and measured etc and miss their targets.

I have Liverpool PCTs annual report which shows that they spent £60m on general practice, including paying their staff, nurses, premises etc. and £81m
on their own staff!

There are now 1400 PCT staff in Liverpool alone telling us what to do, giving themselves titles such as "Director of stakeholder engagement"... and I never saw him on my plot holding my stakes.
