Packet arrived

Had a packet arrive with what i think are 4 leek 'pips' in it but for the life of me and i hang my head in deep shame  :-[ i dont know who they came from !!

Sound like they should be Babington Leeks ... does that help?

Ooh Saddad!

The Babbington leeks you sent? I potted them up as you said, they seemed to be doing fine. Then the leaves withered and died. I had a firkle in one pot and found the bulb with one small white root so put it back gently.

I was just wondering if this was normal. I thought I would/should have had them in situ by now. I was going to wait and see what they do........it just seems a looong while.

Now do I get my wrist slapped, what HAVE I done wrong? ???

Alliums tend to do that. They should be coming up soon if they behave anything like onions.I had a quick look at mine this afternoon, and I thought I saw one poking through. I'll have a proper look next time I'm down, but they seemed perfectly healthy little bulbs when I checked a couple of months ago.
