A whole meal's worth there, easily - and a big meal at that!

my mouth is watering at thoughts of leek and potato soup, followed by salad with tomatoes, raw carrot, lettuce, red onion, then stir fried courgette and runners with onion and sweetcorn and butter on the side. All you need to buy is the butter. I wish I had a harvest like that!

PS - what's the white-ish thing above the beans?

Thanks a lot all :-[.  Shucks.  How to do better: dig beds in time so shallots have time to grow, earth up leeks, plant proper carrots instead of the stunted ones that son no.1 picked, spray potatoes to avoid the blight that got them this year, etc, etc.  Raspberries have been biggest success and I inherited those ;D.  I'm definitely a lottie (and A4A) convert tho'.  Love those veggies!

Sniff - everything ripe at once...

Right now, the potatoes are tiny, but very tasty, the green and yellow French beans are stunning, the sweet peas are stunted, but good, the turnips are good - but carrots, leeks, salad onions, assorted brassicas (I'm SO proud that I managed both broccoli and cauliflowers from seed, the other brassicas are said to be easier), my one tomato plant and pak choi are nowhere near ready. We've been eating lettuce and ruccola for months, but NOTHING looks quite as good as this selection.

Well done - I'm envious!

Well done Jill.
Mine onion were crab. They gone rotten before I pull them up. Cauil were nothing comeup at all. Mine sugar snag are doing very well very sweet. And all my chinese veg were doing very well. I'll try harder next year.

How many people are you feeding? Do you have a big big freeze for them all? How big is your allotment? Well done!!!

Got 2 allotments! trying to get a 3rd one further away from vandals! want to use half plot to grow pumpkin next year! Put all the stuff that needs less water on the plot furthest from the tap and loads of manure on the one easiest to empty the trailer! Lots of manure on a weed riden plot not used for 5 years and it does wonders, stables are desperate to get rid of the stuff! Didn`t know so much stuff grew on a little bit of ground! Lots less in the tesco`s trolley now!
