WELL THE GALE FORCE WINDS ARE BACK YET AGAIN THIS SUMMER. YESTERDAY IT BLEW DOWN MY PEAS >:( WAS ABLE TO SALVAGE THEM WITH LOTS OF STAKING AND LASHING OF TWINE ::). TODAY MY NEIGHBOUR LOST ONE OF HIS 6 YEAR OLD APPLE TREES :o AND IT WAS LOADED WITH FRUIT, I REALLY FELT THAT FOR HIM. I JUST CAME BACK FROM MY KIDS SWIM CLASS TO FINE HALF OF MY RUNNERBEANS ON THE GROUND >:( AGAIN WAS SALVAGABLE WITH THE HELP OF WIRE AND TYING ONTO FENCE. SO TOMORROW THE QUESTION WILL BE, WILL I WAKE UP AND FIND A GARDEN. PLUS I DO HOPE THE OAK TREE AT THE BACK OF THE GARDEN DOES DROP ANY OF ITS BRANCHES ON MY GREENHOUSE :-\.

OH AND YOU ARE PROBABLY WONDERING WHY I AM SHOUTING, ITS CAUSE I CAN'T HEAR MYSELF OVER THE WIND ;).

Hi
We haven't got the wind or the gales but all the rain it has rained up here in the north east for days now haven't been able to go in the garden keep looking out of the window and thinking will i risk getting soaked  Noooooooooooo lol

It's been horrendous down here in South Wales today, 45mph gusts, my car got blown over the road!  Not been up the lottie, but if my bean poles are still standing, I'll be amazed!  Torrential rain all day too.  Soooooo.......summer in November anyone?!  :)
What I lack in ability and experience, I make up for in sheer enthusiasm!!!

Bl***y hell :o :o :o our maximum was just under 30mph.  I'll keep my fingers cross for you re: the plot.

I've got loads of things growing in planters and grow bags on my patio. Just rescued my braod beans, french beans and tumbling toms which hadn't just blown over but had been swept along the ground as well!!

Dread to think what's happened to the fleece I pegged out on the plot!!

When oh when will the weather realise it's August?!

Hope the wind hasn't caused to much damage to everyone's plots!

xx

Woke up this morning to phew! a garden and no more damage :), the wind seems to have gone for now, but more forcasted for early afternoon. It should  hopefully only last for a couple of hours with normal conditions overnight, so I'll keep finger crossed that it pans out like it says on the MET's website.

How did other plots/ garden cope did everyone survived the gales, or are some still experiencing them  :o.

It wasn't as bad as was forecasted!

No damage on my plot - thankfully!

that's good news nothing more demoralising than to nurture something from very small and to have it destroyed by a source you have little or no control over >:(.

Green_Gooseberry

It's nice here - an equal mix of sun and rain

Good Gourd 2

Its not flippin nice here, got wet twice today once with the dog and then on the lotty. Staying in now, on the computer instead of getting the dinner  ;D

It's not too good here; we've got a wet north-westerly, and as soon as the air heats up, in mid to late afternoon, we get torrential showers. But it could be worse. The drones were out in force for a while this afternoon, and I need it to be good enough for them to fly, since I'll have a new queen mating in a week or so.

I had a rare weekday off work today and it was lovely. Was on the plot for a little while ths morning and warm enough to sit in a pub garden for lunch.

lorna

Great day here, sun has been shining all day.

when I came out of work at 2pm this afternoon it had just started to drizzle, but by the time i got to my car about 150yards away I was soaked to the skin, the heavens just opened and the rain was even too fast for my wind screen wipers to cope with :o
