Yes - just picked another cucumber (got 3 already), 3 more courgettes and a mountain of French (3 different colours) & Runner beans. But there are plenty of elderly ladies & gents around who love their veg, and I feel a chutney session coming on.

Hard work, but don't you love it?

(And have you seen the price of runners in Waitrose??????)

manicscousers

3 frozen bags of french beans, 2 of runners, 5lb of picalilli, made with courgettes, 10 pots of tomato sauce made with courgettes, 10 strings of onions, 4 sacks of spuds stored,  3 lb bags of peas frozen, now I'm giving them to family and friends  ;D
don't think you can beat this time of year  :)

Only courgettes, sadly. My french beans have been rubbish. :(

Ok 4 plants for family of five, seemed sensible at sowing time ::), but help we are drowing in courgettes :o.
Have made thus far: roasted, stuffed, burger vege patties, battered and fried, soup, chutney, raw in salad, stir fried, cake and cookies.
So far the family aren't complaining of having to eat them everyday, but my poor brain is going to give out if it has to come up with more recipes, thank god for the internet :D.

Wind ahead six months.  Dank, dark cold horrid days.

I think the term 'gather ye rosebuds whilst ye may'. springs to mind.

I love this time of year, with its plentiful harvests.

At the moment runner beans, french beans, and still a few broad beans'.  And sweetcorn are coming along nicely.

Raspberries and blackberries are doing well.  Cooking apples (Bramleys) are also doing very well.
