Just bunged together a potato gratin/toad-in-the-hole combo.

Thinly sliced lotty spuds, put in layers with salt, pepper, parsley (herb garden) and grated cheddar cheese. On the top layer, bang in 8 sausages, with some more cheese, seasoning, and pour 1pt of single cream over the lot.

200c for 1h-1h 1/2, jobs a good one!

PS: And lots of garlic!! ;D

Mnmmmm ... fist of our new spuds today and Friday, freshly dug!  Roast beef with yorks pud and our overwintered onions roasted around it.  Broccoli and carrots (not ours sadly) and rhubarb and strawberry compote (ours!) with orange gingercake, toffee sauce and custard for pud (kids keen on this one!).

Just another couple of weeks to the peas carrots and broad beans .... and the raspberries.... can't wait!

Leave only footprints, take only photographs ....
