GYO magazine subscription

I am looking to subscribe to Grow Your Own Magazine for the next 12 months.  It is a good magazine from the two I have read, May and June's copy.  But I was wondering if it is worth a years subscription with all the information you can get from here.  Do you think it offers more than what you get in a lottie book, of which I have 5 or 6.

Opinions please.  (Any codes for the subscription also appreciated ;))

I used to get The Kitchen Gardner but i found that it became repetitive and not a great deal to learn from it.
Now if i have brain blockage i just go to the RHS site i get all the info i require

I'm with Davy - GYO or Kitchen Garden tend to be good reads in spring/summer but can get repetitive - after all there is only so much to be said about veg an plots.  I just tend to buy them based on the content for that month.

I'm on my second year's sub to GYO.  Interesting but nothing that I couldn't have gotten rom a book apart from the adverts.

The advertorial content is annoying...you get the impression that some smaller articles are written just so they can drop in a plug for an (often expensive) item.

I have to admit to losing my patience somewhat with gardening mags in general. A few years ago you could find no information from them unless you were planning on spending a fortune on perennials, then they seemed to all discover growing veg and for a couple of years were a good source of information, now they all seem to be obsessed with veg growing for the stressed and time-strapped. In other words, if you don't want to grow a lottie full of salad leaves, don't bother as they are all stuck in a loop with this. Of them all though GYO is far and away the best.

I subscribed to kitchen garden last year it was all right as it was about veg but wouldn,t bother again. I have really gone off gardening mags for the same reasons as already told here and feel I can get more upto date and realistic info on the net

I buy GYO most months but a quick flick through this months showed that most of whats in it was covered last year so I won't bother again besides A4A can tell you all you need to know and its better than the GYO forum too.

We used to subscribe to GYO but twice the magazines mysteriously stopped arriving mid-subscription period.  They restarted the subscription on both occasions, but we got fed up with the poor service. Now buy it occasionally.
