PowerKiteFlier

 Hello,

   Long time lurker, new poster

I've just been allocated a half plot at my local allotment. It doesn't seem as bad as it looks with mostly annual weeds ...  A little bindweed but nothing much that i can't deal with.

Ok, so I can deal with the digging and weeding and sorting out the bare essentials (compost, water, muck heap)

Apart from summer seed stuff what should I be sticking in ?

Cheers in advance

Hi, powerkiteflier, welcome to the site  ;D
there are some sites on line, suttons, dobies, vegetableplantsdirect.co.uk that are still selling some plants, also, potatoes for christmas, although these might need protection later.
we're still sowing french beans and peas for a late crop, salad stuff, maybe some of the plot holders on your site will have some spare plants  :)

Wotcha! try planting runner beans as well, a green manure as well as a crop!! I usually plant some in late july, if no early frosts we get beans 'til november ;) ;)
You couldn't make it up!

I've seen far worse; you should soon break that in with a bit of work.

Welcome to the site Adam..... hope the soil is workable, that green cover should have stopped it baking hard, and if you've had the rain we've had in Derby this week......  ::)
Many courgette varieties are quick enough to to crop this summer,... We sowed Romanesco in pots at the start of August last year and were cropping by mid Sept..   :)
