hi gang...what do you do with compost that has been used to start seeds off in. I have several bucket loads at the moment and am loath to throw it away..can you start other seeds off in it or put it over the ground and dig in or what?

I store it in a bin and then use it for carrot and parsnip mix next season.

I mix my carrot seed with it then rake it into the bed that I am groing carrots in - it thins them out for me - but then they still grown in clumps ::)

I mulch up the beans and sweetcorn with it  ;D

I shove it in the compost bin, but mostly it ends up just raked around teh new plants.
2012 - Snow in February, non-stop rain till July. Blight and rot are rife. Thieving voles cause strife. But first runner beans and lots of greens. Follow an English allotment in urban France: http://roos-and-camembert.blogspot.com

I add fertiliser and reuse it, or I put carrots in it  ;D

Goes in the compost bin if it is looking a bit rough.  If it looks like it will last, then I sow more seeds.  Occassionally it gets thrown over the flower beds.
