Yes that about sums it up.
And the ones on the right were?

I've just been looking at my strawberries.....loaded with fruit but all the ripe ones eaten by slugs before I get there.

And the gooseberries on one bush mysteriously disappeared not even one on the ground below, unlike the other bushes which have dropped some of their fruit but are still loaded!???

Cabbages were doing fine nicely protected from cabbage white etc hearting up nicely....then suddenly they're like lace because a herd of slugs moved in...it's all the rain I suppose.

The moral of the story is do not treat one`s wife to a birthday weekend in France if frosts are likely to in the UK-mid May as well :(
