Is it too late to sow some? Thanks in advance.
My idea was to build Liverpool into a bastion of invincibility. Napoleon had that idea. He wanted to conquer the bloody world. I wanted Liverpool to be untouchable. My idea was to build Liverpool up and up until eventually everyone would have to submit and give in. Bill Shankly.

I've sown this late before and they actually were much better than those sown at the 'correct' time, think it all depends on the weather - i am sowing some on sunday so fingers crossed
If the summer is as dismal as last year then most likely they will be fine

Parsnip seeds do not seem to 'keep' well. If you have room to grow they may as well go in.

I had problems last year with germination, and had to resow my parsnips (3 times) about this time of year. I had a good crop but somewhat on the smallish side than I would have liked. Neverless the flavour was excellent.
Go for it.

This is good news!!  I'll be putting some in either today or tomorrow so glad to hear they should be okay x
Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened

Ive been sowing for six weeks now and still have none and will sow again this afternoon :)

Need a Leek

I let one of last years parsnips go to seed and when we were away the seed head burst and we ended up with a parsnip lawn, typical eh when you want them they wont grow and when you and your neighbour " sorry Les" have an unplanned growth of them they do!... the seedlings have had to be yanked out. This year I will be bagging the seed head...Well we live and learn.

just put a couple of rows in last weekend, but don't intend pulling them until near Christmas well after the frost has got to them. Has been ok in previous years when I have tried them.
Which is the best variety? This year I have sown Tender and True but I like Avon Restistor when I can get them.
Nothing ventured etc!!!!!

manicscousers

yes, we've done avon resister and hollow crown  :)

I sowed a line in April and more or less the whole row have come up but I will be sowing another one the weekend.  ;D ;D ;D
