I saw some last week, growing like this, at Barker organics, woolterton, norfolk. he's a biodynamic commercial grower.[attachment=1]
they are treated like blackberries, easy to harvest, hold punnet below the fruit, give branch a shake, only the ripe ones fall.,rgds, tony
You couldn't make it up!

Yeah I have one....in a pot of course.

They fruit on second year wood rather like blackberries.   They have simply thousands of spines and can be difficult to handle.   I train mine on wires.

The fruit looks a little like a raspberry.   Sadly the overall crops are rather light compared to a blackberry.  Added to this the fruit is simply delicious.

When people ask me how I use them I have to remind them of the fruit gum advert:
"Bet you can't suck a fruit gum without chewing it"!
Well.......:
"Bet you can't get a wineberry from the plant to the kitchen without eating it"!

Why do you grow in a pot ?
I planted one in winter 2006 and got some very small fruits last year I was not that impressed with the taste but maybe this year they will be better.
I would rather plant a Tayberry or Silver Stemmed Bramble.

Simple.....I am unable to cultivate a garden.......I am wheelchair bound and spinal injured.

I used to have a real allotment with millions of honey bees too.   I used to have a job that paid wages now I shout  "does anyone want to........rent - a - wreck!

Well I do a little charity work now and I got my Patio Allotment.    Hopefully, pioneering gardening techniques (going where no other pot has gone before) that it may help and inspire others.

I think it affects your sense of humor too
