I've found out today that I'm number 14 on the list for a lottie.

I was 40th on the list last August when my name was added, so I'm hoping it won't be too long before I get one.

I hope you get your allotment soon jo, apparently we have a 4 year wait here. :(
Little garden plot, tended by faeiries, eaten by snails............

That's exciting Jo. Lets hope a few folk give up quickly and you get one in time for soil prep in Autumn. I asked for another 1/2 plot but the answer was no because some folk haven't even got 1/2. Don't mind that, but we have an unused area as big as the used area which the council could take a slice of.  ::)

I was told that someone has just given notice on their plot, and it was going to be divided into two halves, that would make me number 12.

I was also told that letters have been sent to another two plot holders who's allotments are neglected. If they give their's up and they were divided up into halves it would make me number 8  ;D

He also said that the bills go out in September, and that's when the majority who are going to give up, do, so I'm living in hope for a plot before next year.  I don't mind if I only get half a plot, at least it's something.

Maggie, are there any other plot holders who would like to take on extra space? If there were more of you voicing your opinions about using the neglected space surely they would have to listen?

Had a word with fellow plotee today. He tells me that the land is being leased out to the local footie club at long last :(. I had heard it was on the cards but it's taken 7 years to sort out, and I thought it was a dead duck.
Never mind, yours looks promising Jo, keeping everything crossed it's soon. ;)

At least it won't be sat there going to waste Maggie. Shame they couldn't extend your site though, the way things are with allotments and waiting lists at the moment I bet the extra plots would have been snapped up and the waiting list would have gone down.

our plots are alongside 4 rugby pitches, unused from may to september, apart from the odd occasion, we could fill one up with allotments but we have no chance, the land is for leisure use, apparently we don't count  ;D

Our allotments sec. seems to be sexist in as much as his remark to fellow plottee was that "all these women want plots only because their husbands have retired and they want to get out of the house" to which the wonderful L said "don't be daft, these are REAL women"  ;D I love that man. ;D... anyoldhow, our plots speak for themselves.
