Just started to rain - looks like it is setting in for the day.

Sligo - warm and dry, with sunny spells. It's looking good. ;)

To say it is raining and wet would be the understatement of the year.

In 50+ years this is the wettest it's been. Emergency services have been doing their best to get along the main road with sirens blaring.

Although this area is relatively flat, until you get to the Southdowns, there are lower lying parts. All of these are flooded. In some cases water has entered peoples homes and businesses.

We've watched the fishpond expand all morning and newly formed garden lakes edging ever nearer the backdoor both here and across the road at my elderly parents place.

We're so sorry for neighbours just a few hundered yeards away at the bottom of the road as they are paddling indoors! :(

It has been pssssg down all day.  Had hoped it might stop by now but no luck.  Unusually it has been going from East to West , so I presume at some time it will turn round and we will have it all again.

Bad floods here five years ago, hope it does not get that high, no joke.  People in 4x4s were driving round in the water for fun pushing the water up higher into peoples houses and churning up the water so it was even more dirty.

Locally the most wide spread flooding the town and district has seen for a very long time. Roads closed, homes flooded.

So far we're lucky.. only the garden under water. Hosepipe ban has still not arrived here.  ::)

No rain so far here in the West Midlands, but it is looking very threatening ,don't think it will be long before it starts again.
