PART 1:

Today I decided to make a small raised bed in our garden. The area is just in the corner outside the lounge and is currently occupied by a large castor oil(?) plant (and rubbish!).

I will finish cutting this down and remove the flags from beneath it. The area is about 6ft across.

We had some timbers left over from the flat roof of our lounge before it was converted into a conservatory. These are 6 inches high and 2 inches thick joists.

I have made the base 5ftx3ft with a divide halfway across, so the 2nd bed will be 5ftx1.5ft and 12inches deep.

This will give a bed which is split into 2, the first part being 6inches deep and the back 12inches. This is so Sparkly can plant salad crops and carrots at home. We are also planning to use part of the bed as a seed bed to grow crops to transplant onto the allotment.  ;D More to follow....

PART 2:

Finished these since last week. Bit of wood preserver really makes a difference  :)

The cut off drainpipe only went into the ground to soakaway anyway, so I will rig up a piece of pipe to go across the back of the beds so they get watered more when it rains.

Next job will be to attach a trellis to them to hide the fence.

If you add staggered holes all the way along the pipe this will water the entire bed.

I think you have done a fabby job...Well Done  :D
