Ooo Ek Tim, you're just gonna hate me.  We bought our cast iron griddle pan from Netto for £4.99.  It looks a bit smaller that yours, but it does the business, in fact I would list it as one of our "all time best buys"!!

No offence intended, but I think you should probably take your own advice and shop around a bit.

Netto, Home Bargains, Poundland, Poundstretcher et al do have some wonderful bargains, but you've got to be in the right place at the right time, and it's no good saying 'I'll get that next time I'm here', because it won't be there (if you know what I mean?).  I just love looking round these 'junk shops'.

It obviously does a fine job. I bought a 'George'. What a waste of money.
Nothing seems to brown nicely. Took the first one back for this reason. This one's going to freecycle.... >:(
Smile, it confuses people.

No, Valmarg - I don't hate!!

Cast iron - yes - been there, done it. Tried various makes, especially this one. You can have it for £2.99! Two of them!! My reasoning:

1. Don't like cast iron on the AGA enamel.
2. Too heavy for comfort - especially for Wife.
3. Ribbing not pronounced enough.
4. Not big enough.
5. Not flat based. Even the replacement one. A must for the AGA.
6. Less non-stick than the 'coated' ones.

When I said shop around, I meant for an offer like the one listed. And, of course, we never go to those shops. 18 miles away.
Finally, I'm a sucker for Scanpan & SKK - all our major use pans are one or t'other. I agree that the cost is unsupportable but I love them!!

Thank you for that TIM, excellent.  Cooker here i come.

In case I misled, that's the cast iron one in the picture.
