Nice to see that this year's flooding has forced thousands of Rats above ground, & helped boost RENTOKIL's profits which have suffered through a slump in their School Catering business??

On the rat note Webley Rattattack did the trick when my bird table  was threatened...the word has obviously gone round, below or above ground but they have stayed away.

I hope millions more drowned in their holes. All this started when they privatised the water companies, and left nobody with clear responsibility for rodent control.

I think it goes back way, way before the privatisation of the water companies.

I was born and brought up in Burton upon Trent.  In the late 40's, early 50's the local council was responsible for dredging the river.  This was done on a regular basis, and then the nationalised  'Water Board' took over.  The river was never dredged again.

I think that the lack of dredging has been responsible for a lot of the flooding trouble we have had this year.  The rivers beds have been allowed to silt up, so where does the water go?
