I know a lot of members are having a rough time due to the awful floods but would just like to share with you the fantastic 4 days Lish, Rosebud and me spent together.
I shared a hotel room with Lish, thank goodness we got on well. After losing our way (due to Lish being a bad navigator) we finally arrived at Rosebud's at 9.15pm Monday evening instead of 8pm. Boy, can that lady produce lovely meals. On Monday night Rosebud's husband said we could follow him back to the hotel as we wouldn't find it in the dark. He took us withing 3 doors of the hotel but as it was a one way system we just had to travel a VERY short distance, 6 miles later we finally managed to get to the hotel entrance. I am sure nobody has ever found 10 different ways to get to Rosebud's home from the hotel, normally a 10minute drive but we turned it into an hour's drive.
We were taken to different places of interest, Rosebud decided we should ride in their car as no way would we find the right route!!
All in  all we had a fabulous time with delicious meals cooked by Rosebud and we never stopped laughing. My ribs still ache. So due to A4A I now have new great friends.
Mary,Ron and Lish it was a pleasure to be in your company.
Lorna.
PS I took a bottle of brandy to have a little nip before retiring each night. Unfortunately Lish said she didn't drink brandy. However she wanted to be sociable so decided to have a little. If ever Lish says she doesn't like brandy she is telling porkies!!

Wow, what a great time!  Glad you had a good time Lorna, Lish and Rosebud.  Hope Lorna's drinking didn't lead you all astray!  ;) ;)

It seems a few of us have made good friends thanks to A4all.  What a great place!

So glad it all went well.  Would love to hear from any men who have done anything similar.  I suspect it's a woman thing.   ;D

How would we know - they'd never admit to getting lost like that!

Hiya Lorna, so pleased you enjoyed yourself . It was lovely to meet you & Lish.  Just don`t ever go on a rally driving course the pair of you , it will be like mark thatcher all over again.  Yes we had a good time. Just as well Ron took us all out that day or else we would still be looking for you.
Me with my poorly strimmed legs ::) ::) ;D ;D  Ron is very busy at present as you can imagine he hasent got over his week off yet.  Love Maryx.

Mary's poorly strimmed legs....wasn't gonna mention this but since she brought it up..... ::)

Mary went, dutiful-wife-like, to 'help' Ron tame the greenery in their new bungalow. Now, in the fair distribution of work, Mary does the thinking planting/growing, etc. of the pretties, for which she has a formidable talent 8), while Ron does the labouring jobs......sound familiar?

But this particular day, she decided to help him with the lawns....he'd mowed, she'd strim the edges...

It was never quite clear to Lorna and I how she managed it, but she strimmed a healthy lavender plant to death and also  the front, sides and back ??? of her calves.....in fact, they were well-and-truly lacerated.

With blood pouring, unchecked,  down her legs, she re-entered the bungalow, found Ron out, and said, mournfully,  in a gloriously unstated way.....

"Ron, I don't want to do this strimming any more".......

lorna

Well we were very sympathetic...........after we stopped rolling round the floor with laughter, I've got the giggles all over again. Wonder if we will ever get another invite!!?

Ladies, i am still waiting for some sympathy!!!. Ron is still wondering how i did it,   when you pair stopped laughing , ::) ( it only took you 10 mins)  i felt quite sorry for myself. well i shall not be offering to strim again to help Ron, he will probably be glad to hear that no doubt ::). It was great to see you both and yes you can come back next year.  Mary.

I'm having a bit of a laugh here,  ;D ;D ;D  but what I can't understand is ... how and why on earth do you strim the backs of your legs ??? ??? ???

asbean. I don't want to appear rude but please don't ask!!! I would like to point out that the strimming was done BEFORE we arrived. We would not have laughed had we been there, well at least we would have waited for the wounds to stop bleeding.
Mary you were a great sport and we had a fab time. Thank you :)
