Lovely photo.  Reminds me of a time we were sitting behind a similar flock with a rather lively sheepdog which kept nipping the sheep's ankles.  eventually one old ewe got fed up & attacked the dog - gave him a good seeing to & it slunk of yelping.  :)

It brought back similar memories for me too Mary  :)

We used to look after my cousin's dairy farm in the summer and I was responsible (at the age of about 7 actually  ::) ) for fetching the cows from the fields about 2 miles from the farm - across a road as well!

But the main 'fetcher' was a lovely sheepdog called Nell. She knew what she was doing even if I didn't! She used to swing off the cows tails every single time we fetched them and be hoofed into the air  ;D Used to make me laugh out loud - bless her!
