Jon and I both say a BIG THANKYOU for your kind words.

We have to admit to being very excited about the big day, and will keep you all informed, all we know now is it could be anytime in the next 5 months!

Yep, absolutely right Jeanine, I have always been proud of Jon as a husband, and proud of the work he does and the dedication to it (sometimes the number of hours away or out the house get me down!) but this is just so unbelievable and special

As for hair colour, I thought I might tone it down a little! Maybe black with a pink stripe?

That's great!! My great uncle has OBE or MBE can't remember which for services to the unions. He was sooooo proud and so were we all. My gran went with him to Buck House and I think it was possibly the best day of her life to be there with her brother.
Keep the hair if you're brave enough - if not DEFINATELY have a pink stripe!
Congratulations Jon, you wouldn't be getting it if you didn't seriously deserve it!

A rather wet Auntie Pauline came back on Saturday afternoon..........we had rain  every day in France.  I was delighted to get an email from Jon with his good news.  He really deserves it for all the hours he puts in to keep the troops supplied and you, Kathi, have been a real support to him too. 

I am very excited for you both Kathi.  Yes, you will definitely have to wear a hat.  What about dying your hair red, white and blue?.....just kiddin'.  I am sure you will look lovely whatever you wear.
