You can force all potato plants to produce flowers but it is only worth doing if you are a breeder after the seed pods.  The early earlies produce their tubours and die off before they produce flowers if you let them.  To get flowers, you have to remove the potatoes without killing the plant.  The plant will then go onto flower.

we had a firkle at our spuds, glad we did, they didn't flower but they taste so lush, didn't want to go buy any from supermarket so firkle we did yum yum in our tum Kids love them too

Dug up all the anyas today - 5 plants, and now have 2.4Kg of spuds  ;)

Still in the plot   36 Leeks, 1x rows parsnips, 2x  rows chard, psb, broccoli, 5 rows garlic, 1 row swede, lots of onions - started in rows, but the birds had them and now they are random!!
