I have some seeds for things like Cauli, Cabbage and Leeks that show an end sowing date of May. Would I be okay to sow direct now/next week or so or should I just hang on to those seeds and look for something else to put in a bit later instead. (I'm iin the south west near the coast if that makes any difference).

Made a bit of a half hearted start and the gardening bug has kicked in so I want to make the best use of the garden that I can before I get a plot and put the majority of the garden back to grass.

I would have a go, i am in the north east and have been advised we should always be a few weeks behind packet dates anyway.  I'm only in my third year but have managed ok adding a few weeks to recommended dates

Nice one esre, you've answered a question for me too!  ;)

We're so behind with virtually everything this year (well, it is our first year!) and I was hoping to try a few things that the packets reckon we've missed.  We're in Lincs so I'm guessing we can afford another 3 - 4 weeks on the end of the sowing periods stated.

Happy sowing!  ;D
Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened
