got up this morning, went downstairs - hands full of 'stuff' so went to close the door with my foot, misjudged and cracked my toes ..... oowwwww, it really hurt, finally the throbbing stopped enough so I could put on my shoes and go to the lottie.

Have been bedding in the pond edging - big heavy slabs of stone and yep, you've guessed it - managed to roll one of them onto my poorly toe .... OOWWWWW

Got home, stripped for shower and noticed I have a lovely black, purple and red middle toe  :-X think it might be broken ... wonder how I'll get my normal shoes and work shoes on  ???  now limping around feeling sorry for myself - OH is away so no tea or sympathy for me.

well, here's the sympathy, mc..can you put ice on it, keep it up, hopefully the swelling will go down..have you got any witch hazel, providing it's not cut, soak some cotton wool in it and put it on your poor toe..can't help with the tea, I'm afraid..look after yourself  :)

Oh dear mc sounds painful  :o

I'd put the ice in a large g & t put your foot up and ring for a pizza delivery for tea  ;)

Take it easy & hope you feel better soon :-*
Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened

OUCH!!!

<virtual cup of tea> :P

I feel your pain (almost literally).

My grandmother's bunion has been playing up something chronic over the last two days.  I've had to give up wearing my rubber clogs as they don't "give".  Had my trusty black nubuck clogs on today and although still very sore, it's not half so bad.

Hugs and virtual tinny for you (a real one for me).   ;D

OOoooh how's your toe now? Yikes, it sounds painful .   I once walked bare footed into the side of a concrete path. Took the nail of my second toe, right foot, right off. EEEEEUUURGH!   Didn't notice until next morning because I was somewhat trolleyed. I had a great big drunken Irish man in tow at the time , I deposited him in a room with an unsuspecting Greek bloke...heehee I would have liked to have been a fly on the wall when they woke up but unfortuantely I was already off on a boat to pastures new.  Me toe ached like mad though!

Broke my big toe walking into a wall once anorl. Haha. Can't remember much about it,I think I just misjudged a doorway.  Right foot again.

Fell off me heels and tore the tendons in my leg another time, was in plaster for ages then went and did it again a few months later. Have loads of interesting nobbles on my right foot now. OH calls me "Gimp Foot"

Hope your tootsie feels alot better !

MrsKP

how is it that other's misfortune can have you wetting yourself with laughter ! (not literally i hasten to add)

brings to mind in my teens in Portugal with M&D, running along a beach with a Portuguese version of a senor, and i kicked his heel, broke my little toe.  I still bear the scars today (sticky out right pinky toe).  one moment of (non) passion, a life of not wearing strappy sandals.   ;D

;D ;D ;D thanks guys, wiping the laughter tears away now.

The toe next to it was broken about 5 years ago whilst abroad - of course alcohol was involved - some nitwit from work jumped on it whilst 'dancing'.  It was purply / black for about 3 months.

It's only painful if I forget about it and 'crunch' my toes, or lift them up.  Seem to be able to wear trainers and can walk (although look like a bit like the Hunchback of Notredame as I shuffle along).  Its a horrible colour.

KP! A sticky out right pinky toe.  Blimey and I thought my feet looked funny. You could use it for catching fish though couldn't you? Just dangle your foot in the water.

MC hope you're on the mend. They are right stingy those toe injuries.

I forgot the say that when I tore those tendons, all five toes swelled up and looked like a row of new potatoes.

Toes! What are they like!!
