I've been trying without success to source a reel of Hum Line - the green stuff in the video.

But meanwhile, it dawned that audio tape might work. So we're trying that for a while.

Sorry about the sideways slant - it says I can't rotate it!

If i was to use an air rifel to remove some pigeons on the lottie, would this get me in trouble with the law?

Rosie - like so many other things, it's supposed to.

Just been out to check - we're OK so far!!

Depends Simba... you might get complaints from other plot holders...

asbean, we would need a lot of pairs of peregrine falcons to see off the pigeons round here. There's only so many pigeons one pair could eat, presuming that they don't kill for the fun of it (like humans do!!!!)
Grow your own and enjoy the fruits of your labours,
Regards Alan.

Yes, same for us. The magpies are in short supply this year, the neighbouring cats are bone idle ... ... We can't use a shot-gun, there are houses nearby and we back onto the prison!!!  ;D ;D ;D

yep - you need the landholders permission + you need to obey all the other mandatory air rifle rules (have a google)
on the + side pigeons taste nice

Tim,
I use video tape as humming line. It's much stronger than audio tape & a darn side cheaper than bought stuff. If tied to canes @ about 6' centres, it hums well & the wind doesn't rip it to bits. I believe it's effective against pidgeons.
I also use an air rifle - they don't like it up 'em.
One has to abide by the rules, of course, but I'm fortunate. My plots are fairly isolated & are not council/association or owt.

Agree about strength, but that's all I have.

Proves nothing, but see the results??

Things might be different in the snow?
