Tee Gee

Did a bit more planting out this morning not much more left to plant.

As I have mentioned before I am keeping a photographic record of progress on my plot and thought you might like to see my plot as it was this morning.

What I have done is selected various points around the two plots (details at foot of slide) and periodically I will take photographs from these points to give a time lapse effect.

The final outcome will be placed on my website next winter.

Excellent, but we are nowhere near that yet... probably by the 2nd of June, after the half term week!
;D

Wow, now that you have finished yours - want to come down and help out my way?

What is that white stuff around the brassica's - lime??

Very nice just wish my lottie looked like that.  The pipes around the tomatoes is a good one - think I will go down the tip and see what I can scrounge??  How close did you plant your tomatoes?

If you can't be a good example -- then you'll just have to be a horrible warning....

Very impressive, but how big is your plot?

It looks as if you are running a market garden with all those peppers and tomatoes.

Mine is a standard size, 90 feet by 30 feet. Photo on my allotment home page
on the top left taken last week. I don't think that I can work full-time as a GP and manage much more!

Sooo clever, both of you.

Tee Gee

You certainly have put in some work on that plot, I wouldn't have the patience to form all those beds.

A question I often ask myself when I see people surrounding their growing beds with timber is 'does thing grow any better'?

I daresay they are more manageable!

How do you find it?

By the way each of my plots are around 60 ft x 30 ft as well!

I have a 28ft Greenhouse (although I only grow in 16ft of it) a 12x8 and an 8x6. The tunnel is communal and I have the use of the centre bed which is about 22x4ft

So very organised both of you. I use your site very often TEEGEE it's truly amazin and so easy to find everything . I like the chrysanth section. Cheers
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

beautiful Tee Gee, all looking really healthy  :)

Sinbad7

Great plot's both of you.  But, whatever do you do with all those cabbages Tee Gee?

Tee Gee

With respect Sinbad there are only 12 Cabbages there.

My brassicas are as follows;

18 Calabrese Chevalier
18 Calabrese Marathon

The reason for my choice here is Chevalier is an early variety and once I have eaten them Marathon comes into play. Then when I have finished these the secondary spears will have appeared on the Chevalier and once again; once these are finished Marathon will be producing its secondary spears,

In this way I can crop Calabrese for around three months!

18 Cauliflower Candid Charm
14 Cauliflower White Rock

Once again these mature at different times so again I an harvesting over a longer period.

Then for Winter into Spring I have 12 Cabbage Tundra and 12 Savoy Wintessa.

With Brussel Sprouts I am growing 36 Maximus which will last me at least until March and I am trying 24 Revenge which apparently is an earlier variety so this year my Sprouts should last me for 5-6 months.

With the 12 cabbages (Regency) I generally give these to the Harvest home because I don't need them...........too busy eating other things ;)

In two or three weeks I will sow some more Marathon Calabrese which is a dual early/late variety and providing we get a mild winter this will keep me in Calabrese up to Christmas.

And if we get a mild winter like last year it will keep on cropping to March, Which is earlier than Purple Sprouting!

I hope that answetrs your question ;)

Tee Gee. You got my first choice for my first Cauli,s Candid Charm, they have never let me down yet.

Tee-Gee - looking great.  Your plot is certainly an inspiration ... and that greenhouse - to die for !

BarbaraGood

Thats fantastic (both plots with photos) but also quite depressing! I'll never get to that stage.
