Am I too late to start growing chillis from seed? If not can anyone suggest which  mildish variety I should grow?

You'd be better off buying plants at this time of year, if you can find them.  I wouldn't be thinking of sowing this late.

Shame I don`t do mail order-it is a bit late now but look around for folk like me who sell plants.

Mildish?-that is so personal to one`s taste-Cherry bomb is hot but not incendiary-sort of warmish? Joe`s long Cayenne go from boring when green to mild/hot when red.
