Do any of you know how to get slug slime off a pair of new (and expensive) jeans???

My daughter was out for a walk this morning, sat on a wall for a break, and when she stood up realised she'd squished a slug with her bum.

Fingers x'd one of you can help her out!!

Thanks,

Eileen.

Eileen - I'd try leaving the goo to dry and then brushing it off with a old dry toothbrush.  If it leaves a mark trying gently dabbing and blotting with dilute Stergene or similar.  I use Vanish spray on most things but don't know if it would be too harsh for the pricey jeans!

Hope someone out there has a definitive answer for you

I just assumed it would wash out.  You live and learn.  :P

Thanks AC!!

I've passed your instructions on to Laura so let's hope she's not completely ruined her jeans.  >:(

Question is why she was wearing brand new jeans to go a walk in the first place - silly girl!!  ???

Thought that i would be able to answer this as i worked in a dry cleaners at one time. But i'm afraid that it's one stain that i never came across. iIwould have thought washing would have fetched it out.

Just done a quick search on google re 'slug stains', and yes it did yield results.
The conclusion I came to was that normal washing should remove the stains, you may want to do a presoak just to be sure . . .

There must be a moral here somewhere . . .

Thanks Derek for all your trouble, much appreciated!!!

Thing is she said she'd pre-soaked the jeans in a stain removing solution and then put them into the machine and the stain is still there.
She's now going to try Claire's remedy to see if it works.

Don't know why it didn't come out unless it was because it wasn't just the slime but the completely burst open, squished slug.

Well, the moral of this tale is, if you want to stick something to fabric, find a couple of fat slugs and squish them all over the surface first!  ;D
