just a few 'tumbling tomato' seeds of any sort - know they're very expensive but only need maybe 4 more at the most - I can't/don't grow the ordinary tomatoes and can only put little ones in pots on my patio or a hanging basket.

I've a sealed pack of T. & M. 'Harbinger' tomato I could exchange for them or a sealed pack of Brussels Sprout 'Falstaff' - purple ones - which I wont be using in exchange.

Not sure what we do - never done a swap before

Thanks - Maggie (H.P.

Hi Cambourne - that's just brilliant - I loved that variety last year!

very embarrassed to say - not sure how to p.m. you - so long since I've done one that I've forgotten - can't see a facility to click onto :-[

please remind me what to do!

I have an interesting one  called Super Bush that grows to 38inches tall  x 36 inches wide, needs no staking or pruning yet bears loads of large toms all season. Would be great in a pot. Pm me if you would like a couple of those too. I don't need a swap back XX Jeannine
When God blesses you with a multitude of seeds double  the blessing by sharing your  seeds with other folks.

I have "whippersnapper" a small trailing type with pinkish cherry fruit... I save my own so half a dozen will not be a problem... do you know how to save tom. seeds? It is dead easy, one fruit will provide up to 50 seeds depending on the variety...

UNDER PRESSURE (constantly)

Goodness! I'm overwhelmed  ::) no Saddad, no idea really how to save the seed - assume you just let the tomato 'dry/disintegrate' in the course of time, take the seeds out - please tell me how it's really done ;)

The whippersnapper sound good too but think with the ones I'm already being sent, I ought to have enough - thanks all the same (altho wasn't sure if you mean't you had some for swapsies or to give away or were just telling me about them :-\

Get a ripe tomato... cut it open... take out the seeds from the flesh. The tricky bit is each seed is contained in a sack of jelly! Put seeds in an egg cup with some water leave to ferment for 3-5 days... drain off water and scum... if seeds have come clean space out on kitchen towel and leave to dry for a day or three in a sunny spot ie window sill... pick off into envelope!
If they hadn't come clean add water and try again in a couple of days!
;D

you learn something new every day!!

saddad

Apart from Sungold (F1) you need never buy a tomato seed again!
;D
