When I was watering and counting and regrouping the toms tonight into their various varieties (some how they'd got separated), one stood out from the rest !  It was marked up as a SS Pineapple, but was so obviously not.

I've found a couple that closely resemble it, but can't make my mind up which it's closer too.  Perhaps one of you (Biscombe perhaps as she gave me the seeds of the other two.

The unidentified one is to the left, Biscombe's two are top and right.  Which do YOU think is the closest match !

Hope you can see it properly.  Having a nightmare trying to upload it.

machman5

I think it looks like the one at the top of the picture.  I am always muddling things up and never end up with a whole row of the same, there's always one rogue in every row! ::)

Good luck ;D
I smile because I have no idea whats going on!!

MrsKP

Just managed to get the bigger pic uploaded.

If you're right machman5, then it's a Tres Cantos (the other one is a Muchamiel).  I was even trying to count the grooves and serrated bits at one stage !  lol

I guess the proof will be in the eating !   ;D

Thanks for the reassurance that it's not just me.

Jeannine

Mrs Kp Bless you heart, I am so glad you do that too. I los the tag off a whole row of melons, the only clue was that I had trebled them in the pots so I knew it was one that was old seed so I managed to bring it down to two. Ayawy that's the fun eh..
   Good Luck XX Jeannine

PS the picture just off the screen top right looks like it might be a Pieneapple, with potato foliage.
When God blesses you with a multitude of seeds double  the blessing by sharing your  seeds with other folks.

MrsKP

I suppose I should be grateful that it was only one plant Jeannine.  I'd only labelled one pot out of the whole tray of Tigerella, but they were SO recognisable that they were easy to regroup (tall and lanky - i think they were the ones furthest away from the window when we went on hollibobs).

Now the one in the furthest right upper corner of the pic IS a Pineapple, but the 3 main ones in the centre are all regular leafed varieties.  The might look a bit droopy cos i just sprayed them with some epsom salts !

Jitterbug

After I got all mine muddled up last year I have devised a cunning plan.  ;D ;D

What I do so as not to muddle them up is write all the names in rows onto sticky mailing labels which I then cut on in thin strips -  then fold the thin lablel strips around a toothpick and then label each one.  Its working so far.

If you can't be a good example -- then you'll just have to be a horrible warning....

definitely a tomato

;)

That's about as far as I got!  I'm glad it's been worked out - I'm gonna have another one for you guys to decide over soon, I sowed 2 each of Black Mavr and North Pole (along with fifty million other!) and somehow I've ended up with three of one and one of the other and now I don't know which are right and which are wrong!  aaagh!  So watch out for another request for identification!
:)
Thank you to all who donated to the Moonlight Half Marathon Walk in aid of St Catherine's Hospice - my mum and I raised just over £300!!!    ............     Thanks!  :-)

Biscombe

Hi KP!! Sorry just seen the post! can't help much, It's my first year with Tres Cantos (salad) and Muchamiel's! (beefsteak) I have some growing too so I can take a pic if you like xx

MrsKP

I've got 3 of one and 4 of the other, all carefully marked, but this rogue one could be either !! lol

No worries my dear, for the duration (until proved otherwise) Rougey will be called a Tres Cantos until it grows a cricket ball size fruit !  lol

All the babies are doing well I might add.  Thanks so much.

Luvvin it.
