Potatoes - When to plant out

I was going to stick my first earlies (Mimi) in this coming weekend but held back as I thought that the ground may still be a bit cool and wet for them.  However, I shall be waiting until the weekend after next and shall judge the weather/ground accordingly when the time comes.

Where have I read that you can put your spuds in when it is warm enough to drop your trousers and park your bum in the soil?

Those of us who remember outside toilets in the winter might well plant at a lower temperature than people brought up with central heating. You had to park your rear on the seat, come what may!
