Just thought id ask how you all do things...did you put your brussells, winter & spring cabbage in last years brassicca bed or this years brassica bed?

Just curious as i put mine in this years brassicca bed and realised there isn't too much space left for this years crops.

I have only had my current allotment since 2004, so not sure if my input is very valuable - but I put the brassica's that overwintered 2006/7 into the bed I prepared for brassica's last spring.

This years brassica bed will be used for my summer/autumn harvest stuff, and also an area of it set aside for this coming winters overwintering stuff.

Hopefully this makes sense - always difficult trying to explain rotation in writing - I am better with a bit of graph paper. ::)

Just to put in my 2p worth... The main thing is to have the longest gap between when you pull the last brassica up and when you grow them there again. As long as you're fairly consistant, it shouldn't matter. I reckon.

we've got 3 brassica beds this year, 2 last, so plenty of room for end of the year greens  ;D
