Amazin

Got mine on Friday from Buckingham Nurseries:

Rocket (1st early)
International Kidney (1st early)
Nadine (2nd early)
Wilja (2nd early)
Cara (main)
Golden Wonder (main)

All advertised as having good slug and blight resistance

Still going to the Potato Day in February!
Lesson for life:
1. Breathe in     2. Breathe out     3. Repeat

Two earlies:

Amandine - great flavour salad and baking spud. I'd like to grow some of these for Christmas, or freeze them as per tim
Rocket - ditto - will be trying out in hotbox in February for very early spuds

Both failed to suffer from pests ;D

Apart from one or two experimental tubers (free offers from T&M a month or so ago) we don't grow maincrop spuds. A chap down the road with a big garden grows beautiful Desiree and Picasso, dries them off outdoors and sells them at £.50 per half bags, two half bags last us all winter. I'd rather use the time and space for something else

Went to our local garden centre who are pretty good apparantly and they didnt have them in.  Was a wasted trip on a sunday morning.

I Can understand a good garden centre not having them in yet ..
At our society we dont get our seed potatoes delivered from the supplier till mid Feb ..Personally I think its soon enough .I think it pays to let them store them. Their facilities for this are far better then ours .. Cheers .Jim

Home base has seed potatoes in, i noticed at the weekend.
I got mine from T & M though, as they had i bigger variety.

Rocket
Kestrel
Harlequin
Anya
Cara

Got the Kestrel & Cara from QD stores, (suppled by a spalding grower & virus free certified, used last 2 yrs with no problems), and got rest from Notcutts, P'boro, (supplied by T&M). Interestingly, the T&M seed pots were MUCH cheaper in the garden centre than on the T&M website, and for a slightly larger bag than on the website, hmmm.

We went to our Wilkies store this morning and got some pentland javelin. I remembered growing many years ago and they were ok. I'm going to get some nadine when I see them. i noticed that Wilkies had some small bags of 10 tubers of several different varieties so I may try some of these just to see what they perform like. The website that KT suggested is very good Thanks Kt
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

After problems with blight, i had a go last year with Sarpo Mira, a new blight resistant potato from Thompson Morgan, turned out to be excellent. Don't know if they are sold anywere else yet.

Most Potato Days have them (at the T&M price but you can buy as few as you want = no postage to pay and lots of other varieties to try!!!!) but T&M don't supply other outlets
