Hey SS, Running around like a blue bummed fly at the moment, so hopefully these versions are okay.  If you want bigger, then I will have some time later to go through the discs and email you the originals.  Honestly, looks like 2007 is going to be as busy as 2006 was!!   ;D

Thats amazing Emma.

I grew pumpkins in 2005 and had amazing fun with them but realised that my back garden wasn't the perfect place for them and had to 'think' of a new invention to have their own private space.

Now your pics are giving me ideas  :o ;D And my mind is racing.

Do the squash manage to support themselves easily enough on the frames?
Did you have any that broke off?
As some appear to be of a good weight but dwindling in the air?
I suppose naturally they entwine around the frames to give themselves enough support??

P.S Ive saved your pics to show Mr Honeybee of a job he might have added onto his job list ;) If you would prefer i didnt have your pics on my comp, please let me know xxx
Hope you dont mind...even if i dont get it sorted for this year, it doesnt stop the mind ticking does it?

Well done on what looks an amazing set up  :)

Thank you EJ, just the ticket :-* ;D

oooo honey, no, I posted these from our hols last year when we were at gardens in France.  Cor, wish my better half could knock something like that up!!!!  They do support themselves once they get going as they have tendrils which grab hold of things and the stems are usually pretty tough, however, I have seen fruits supported by mini hammocks made out of ladies stockings  :o.  I am going to have a go building something like it, on a much much smaller scale this year, using old trellis to get them going upwards.

Super dooper super sprout!  ;D

we made wigwams with hazel from our bushes, tied the squashes up, did pretty well, it actually made it easier to water them, we could see the water bottles  :D

If anyone is thinking about 'going native' for wood products - willow and hazel stakes, pea sticks, hurdles, charcoal and so on, remember to order well ahead - well, now!

lol Emma, i really thought it was your back garden  ;D

Still its given me some great ideas and ive shown hubby the pics, hes promised me the world but we shall wait and see if he remembers his promises in the spring ;)

As you have mentioned, a smaller version would be fab.
I used the stocking theory myself last year and it worked a treat  ;D

Ooooh that is lovely! It's given me an idea of how to make a sort of 'fence' between us and the next plots now. I too thought it was your garden and was v jealous lol  ::)
Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened

Mrs Ava

If that was my garden I would be selling tickets!  I should be so lucky!!  ;D  Does remind me of lovely long summer days though.

Paulines7

Which gardens did you visit in France EJ and where was the photo taken please?

saddad

We do sell tickets E-j to our yellow book open days. Nothing that stunning to see though... maybe....
???

Mrs Ava

I don't remember the name of the gardens now Pauline, I would have to look back through the papers, but we were in the Vendee.  It was a fab place with water gardens, bonsai house, tropical house, orchid house, veggie garden and lovely gardens from around the world.  I will ask the old boy in a mo if he can remember where it was.

The photo properties say 'Jardins du Monde' :)
