I keep getting a 'Clock Manipulation' error message when I log on. I am wondering whether it has anything to do with an AOL update.
I don't know how to get rid of it short of  deleting the last update (and is that a wise move?) or system restore !
Can anyone advise me please.
I'm not very knowledgeable re computer stuff, I'm learning as I go along. ???

This can be one of two error messages.

1 the computer clock is wrong sometimes caused by the Cmos battery being flat usually caused by people trying to put dates back to stop time limited software timing out, (causing a conflict with system restore)
2 The clock speed of a cpu or graphics card processor has been altered to improve operating speed, but has gone beyond the system spec.

I imagine it is the first.
double click the clock (bottom right) and check the time AND date resert if necesary.
I take it you havent installed any new hardware or made changes?

If it continues post an image of the error so I can have a better look

Thanks Glow, all seems to be correct, Clicked on sync with internet time and will see what happens. The only thing I did was to download the aol update.

It's still here, hanging around like a bad smell, but it wont let me copy it to show you. It just says in a little box with an 'x' 'clock manipulation error ok'.

The  error may not clear till you've rebooted.
