I have finnally got my spuds planted in today, not convinced they will grow, but will see. How often should i water them don`t want to do to much but then again don`t want em to dry out?

Of course they will grow, it is what they are programmed to do! Don't doubt yourself!!  ;D I won't be watering mine for a while yet, my lovely light top soil is on a bed of orange clay, so altho the top couple of inches are quite dry, down deep is still lovely and wet.  If we have a long warm dry spell then water, but with all the April showers we are having, I should think you can leave them to their own devices for the time being.

My spuds (in containers) are going mad! They are second earlies, and I put them in about a month ago.
I earthed them up a few days ago, and already they have grown out of the top of the compost again - wow! :D
Fed them a little bit of miracle grow yesterday, perhaps that had something to do with it.  ???

Have only just got the first earlies in - plot has been a bit damp. Maybe this week, I will get the second earlies in.

Have you seen the discussion on watering spuds on the Potato Blight thread?

Thought this was pertinent, & good practice on the in-house system.

SATURDAY - Forgot to add that that's the new batch of 12p/sqm fleece - over the earlies.

Sorry about the size - I'm working on that.  = Tim

Tim,

I assume, at your age, yiou know that you have to cover them up with soil before they'll grow ??!!??
