Celeriac help

I've got wonderful big healthy celeriac and would like to use one or two to see what the quality is like.

Anyone got any recipe ideas? (I can do céleri-remoulade already).

I use celeriac in the same way as I use most roots really, like spuds.  I love it mashed - I do 50/50 spud and celeriac, plenty of butter and freshly ground pepper!  It is also nice thinly sliced, again 50/50 spud, and used as a topping for shepherds/cottage pie....so would that make it a hotpot?  :-\  Lovely grated raw into a coleslaw type salad.  I also use the stems/leaves tied together and bunged in a soup - I then remove them after a bit of cooking, so you have that slight celery flavour - tis a shame to waste them!  :D

MMmmmmmm!! I like it grated into some puy lentils with mash spuds on the top makes a great veggie cottage pie

Celeriacs make a lovely winter soup, I like to add some fennel seeds and cumin powder to jazz it up a bit.  Delicious!

Finally got round to making a celeriac gratin last night. Not your one Tim although that sounds wonderful too. It was more like a sort of celeriac vegetarian lasagne where the celeriac replaced the pasta and was layered with tomato sauce and béchamel sauce. It was truly delicious. Served with roast pork, roast potatoes and whole roast garlic. Yum! meant to take photos but the smells were so good we couldn't wait. ;)
