dwarf fench beans

As most of you know we only got our plot 9 weweks ago (time flies). First thing we planted were some dwarf beans. Just to get something in the ground really.I had grown them years ago and weren't too keen on them. This time I grew some Canadian Wonder. A flat bean that I got cheap from wilkie's. They started producing last week and I thought I'd better try them being as I'd grorwn them. Well what do you know they were lovely. I had only grown the round ones before. These seem to be more fruitful as well. I shall definitely be growing them again next year.

First time i've grown them this year and im amazed at how much they
crop. A definate addition to the plot for next year!

Just had my first crop of french beans as I sowed then late so that I would have a crop after my runners. Really pleased too with the outcome.

A lot of seed catalogues don't list Canadian Wonder, why? I don't know but I have tried all the modern ones and still I go back to Canadian Wonder. The taste is far better than the Prince or Masterpiece. JW Boyce stock them also Kings. I sowed 5 Rows this year and I have been picking since the 10th of June. The freezer is full, friends freezers are full

We had some for dinner again last night and Tony and myself agreed that we liked them as much if not more than runners. The only thing against them is that you have to bend down to pick them lol
