Seeds germinated - what now?

OK, I know this seems really really basic but I've stuffed up in the past and I don't want to do it again.

The kids and I planted a couple of trays of late salad in a cell tray on Friday afternoon, covered them with a clear plastic cover and put them inside.  The compost was nice and damp so we didn't bother watering them.

By today, 80% had germinated  :) and are now pushing a bit towards the window with their baby leaves.  The surface of the soil is now a bit drier and the plastic cover is all sweaty.

What now?  Cover off or cover on? How much water and how often (and how?) ?  Now it's suddenly warmed should I put them outside or inside?

I am assuming by using a cell tray I can avoid all the hassle of pricking out and leave them to develop in the cells until they are big enough to plant out.

Please help me avoid a terrible massacre of innocent little seedlings.  I've only got about 243 seeds left!!

which type of salad leaves are they? i mean the nights are pretty cold at the moment so it's probably not best to plant them straight out. best leave them outside in the day time and bring them inside in the night....and harden them off that way.

keep the soil moist...there's no specific amounts of time you have to water it. as their roots are developing....drying, shrinking soil can easily tear the roots.

but yea...the cell trays should be ok for them till they get a bit bigger and are ready to plant out.
