Well I never!  Interesting article - thanks Tulippa!  :)
Thank you to all who donated to the Moonlight Half Marathon Walk in aid of St Catherine's Hospice - my mum and I raised just over £300!!!    ............     Thanks!  :-)

You just pipped me to the post T......saw it this morning.  I think it just confirms all we already knew - allotments are in, and worth their weight in gold!  busy_lizzie

Quote from article: 'Allotments are the places men used to go to get away from their wives'
In our house it's where I go to get away from my hubby, and all the sport on the telly! (Only joking dear if you read this)

If I'd had to wait 10 years for mine, I'd be down there on my zimmer frame!!

Squashfan

We are all so ahead of the curve!  ;D We had a ten-year waiting list for ours, but it turned out to be a year wait. Those waiting times are a bit er, made up or something.  ::)
This year it's squash.

Who's been taking sneaky pics of my feet whilst at the lotty yesterday? My secret is out...I'm really Bet Lynch!

Just read it too, uncultivated but "occupied plots" really get my goat... that thing about rents £25- 120... it has taken me 5 years to get an increase from £10-£15 for a standard 300 sq yds....

When I checked yesterday, it looked as though it had stopped the discussion. You can't really reply to that politely.

I think he was taking the Michael.

Hi all,

The other thread on this is in the allotment movement section

http://www.allotments4all.co.uk/joomla/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,72/topic,23291.0

They didn`t print my email,  :(

I tried to emphasise that peopel are friendly and co-operative and welcome novices. Which they are and do.

Which would`ve balanced more controversial views.
