As I had no luck at the alloment I decided to sow some direct in my garden at home and it looks like they all germinated only trouble is I don't really have the room. Do you think i'll be able to move them to the allotment when they are a bit bigger?

Hi Rosyred,

Swede is considered to be one of those plants that can't be transplanted.  But having said that, when you come to thin them out take the thinnings to the allotment and replant, what have you got to lose?

ROSYRED, I have transplanted them in the past. When you come to do it  dig deep to try and get the tap root and look for the plants that have the furiest roots. Hope it works

I'll give it a swirl leave some where they are and some i'll plant up at the lot.

Thanks

I start mine in Jiffy's then plant them on the plot, works well for me!
