Aubergines

We're trying aubergines for the first time this year.  Two plants to a cold frame, plus two or three in the open.  The variety is the rather optimistically named "Black Enorma".  We'll see.

I think newbie growers should be careful with the plants, as they are quite prickly.

If I get just one that looks like that Jerry, I'll be more than happy.

I sowed mine late and have got three plants in the g/h which are beginning to grow up nicely now.  They're still only about 3" high but as long as we continue to get some nice weather, I'm hoping that they'll put on a spurt and catch up.
I'm all for following Tim's suggestion of leaving them well alone, nice and easy!
