What great looking plants though - I'm thinking courgettes? Hope you've got your recipes books ready!
http://ihateworms.blogspot.com/  - Why then do I so want an allotment?

I planted my broadies in succession (good girl) ::)
They are all coming at once too >:(
Your plants do look lovely (and the little watering pots!)

Hot_Potato

Don't know if I'm being stupid but......what's wrong with those lovely looking courgette plants Tim?? (you say - failed again)....or is it because as yet, there's no flowers (or courgettes growing) but surely they will come....eventually

I assume Tim's predicting a glut

I was given this for my birthday -

I normally grow 4 plants and still have a glut. This year i'm trying 2 yellow gourgettes and 2 proper marrow types. All have little gourgettes coming. I always plant them over a hole filled with manure - they seem to like that.

Please excuse my spelling, i am an engineer

Oh!!.....I was being stupid then :-[

he's just too subtle for me  ;D

Ahhh, well I am trying for continuity by sowing some seeds directly rather than starting the plants off in the greenhouse.  Don't know if they will germinate, or if the slugs will mow them down before I spot them, but thought it was worth a try.

Nice healthy looking plants tho Tim.  What variety?

Same like you had, Emma - I think - White Volunteer & White Bush. Did very well last year. But I really had hoped for succession. Thanks for the link, keef!!

Gadfium

I can recommend that little book  ;)

This year there are four 'Mystery Summer Squash' plants on the go, from The Real Seed Co's catalogue. They're almost at the flower opening stage.

Anyone else got 'Mystery Mix' on the go?  What style(s) of mysterious offspring have they produced?

Mrs Ava

Yup Tim, I am growing those again as they were fab last year.

Hi
i have a couple of courgette plants on the lottie but after seeing the plot next to mine rows of courgette plants earlier, with loads of mini courgettes on I have come home and sowed some more...... do you reckon i am way too late?  I thought it was worth a go.

Paula
reduce, re-use, recycle.

Mrs Ava

Not to late.  You might not harvest as many as you would have if you had sown the plants a month ago, but I have just sown some to try and drag the crop into the late autumn.  Last year I was picking courgettes into November. So long as the weather keeps mild, there is no reason no to sow now.  ;D

flossie

Thanks for that EJ - will have a go at a late sowing
