Does anyone have any seeds or be able to take cuttings from Black Raspberry 'Mysore'
It's featured in the latest KG Magazine in an article and says that Chilterns Seeds supply them, but I've contacted them and they haven't stocked them since last year and they are unable to find a new supplier after their previous supplier ceased trading. Have searched on the 'net but cannot find any suppliers.
Can swap for various seeds or cuttings.
thanks

You got there before I did! They do look interesting, don't they? Would love to have a go at growing them.

I remember reading something months ago about anti-cancer properties being found in black raspberries that aren't in red ones.

Sorry this is a bit late but newish to this site and hadn't found the swap pages until now. I don't have any black raspberries but they seem to be offered as plants by www.korewildfruitnursery.co.uk.

Having read their descripton though they seem to require a bit more TLC than the normal varieties.

MYSORE RASPBERRY (Rubus niveus)

From southern Asia is this formidable raspberry, with large, vigorous, pale green canes, vicious spines and masses of rosy pink flowers.  If you are brave and can find it a sheltered sunny spot without too much in the way of frost, (ours have taken over one of our cold greenhouses) it will reward you with large quantities of beautiful bloomy black raspberries right through the summer into the autumn.

These are very sweet and juicy though they lack acidity.  This makes them an ideal addition to fruit salads where they not only look good, but also allow you to get away with adding less sugar than you might have had to otherwise.
