Frustration!

So here I am, sat at the computer. It is raining cats and dogs, or spears and arrows if you are in France. There are hundreds of jobs in the garden which desperately need doing. There are hundreds of plants which need their portraits taking.
We have replaced all the wood in the workshed, sounds good, but it is a brick structure and apart from the door and door frame every piece of wood in the roof etc. was only held up by the concerted efforts of the woodworm linking arms. We also have raised the roof so that we no longer bang our heads on the central roof support beam. I need to get back in and finish it off, but I had to disconnect the electricity and it is too dark in there to see what I am doing. I cannot take a light out there because it is raining.
AND my sciatica is now so bad that even getting up from this chair for comfort visits (t and t!!) is painful.  :'(
Finally the site has been unavailable all day, till Curry sent me this link
Frustration is the name of the game.
Hope you all are having a better day.  ;)

I've had a lovely day, Eric :) - sorry about yours :(

Awww - Eric, virtual hug zooming your way :)

Mrs Ava

Monday blues huh Eric.  My day has been lots of nothing really.  Kids off to school, chores and housework done, so I thought I would go to a local garden centre/nursery that I have never been to before.  Dissappointment.  Is it just me or are plants really really expensive these days!?  I want something tall, but airy to fill the final gap between us and the neighbours, but I don't want something to dense.  I thought something like a verbena or 3....lots of tall growth, but light so you can just see through it, not to much shade, pretty, etc, etc,....but I couldn't find them anywhere, and of course, not a sole around to help me.  Looked at bamboos just 2 puny stems in a pot were £50!  Could have got a nice vibernum for £8.50 - good height, but I don't know much about them, and I fear it would be to dense, or to much bare wood.  Wandered around aimlessley for half an hour, then came home.  Pottered until the kids came home.  Helped daughter number one with her homework and am now waiting for my darling Ava to come home.  hey ho....working tomorrow.

Love the woodworm thing, Eric!

SO sad to think of your discomfort - there are enough things against us without that.

Raising roof? For our big(ger) greenhouse, we sank the floor a foot.

Sorry to hear of your problems Eric, it was the communal spirit which prompted me to distribute the link to everyone in my address book. Hopefully that grapevine will continue to reach out, I know how frustrating it is not being able to access here.

Does anyone know of Dan's movements, no sign since Friday afternoon ...
The impossible is just a journey away ...

Here in the Netherlands we have another beautiful day. I cannot remember the last day we have had any rain. The garden is so dry . I have to use the hoosepipe every day in the vegetable garden. The broadbeans are in flower and the garden is bone dry. We need despate some rain......
Everybody is in summer tenue working in the veg parts: shorts and wellies ;D
Saterday afternoon and Sunday we went to the beach with some guest because it was so warm . Today it was a bit sticky but very nice.

Eric . Hope your sciatica is less painful today :) I never knew how painful sciatica could be until it decided to prove the point to me.. Apart from the 3 tablets the Doctor prescribed I also take a couple of pain killers BEFORE I go in the garden..At least I manage to keep going for a while.Apart from the sciatica I consider myself very lucky healthwise (for my age) but boy oh boy it certainly slows you down when you get a bad attack.
Best wishes Lorna.

Sorry to hear about your sciatica Eric.  I had dreadful sciatic pain in my right leg for several years but then had a steroid injection at the hospital last September.  After a few weeks, the pain in my leg went away.   ;D ;D   I would recommend you see a consultant Eric and see if you can have an injection.  It only took two minutes and was not at all painful but well worth having done.   ;D

EJ, Lidels or Aldis are doing bamboo canes - straight or twisted.

Hyacinth

Is that for EJ or for Eric, ani?  ::)

Sciatica's a b....

Anne Robertson

For EJ, she was looking for tall things to grow between her and the neighbours according to her post further up.
I do hope the sciatica is better though  :)
