my seeds have sprouted - i've got about 4 shoots in 1 pot.. do I need to split them up into seperate pots ???

Yes, but not until they have at least two true leaves (not seed leaves).
The impossible is just a journey away ...

Leave them alone till they're well established. Hopefully, by that time, the weather will be more reliable and they can go into cold frames or cloches where there's more space.

This is one of the hardest things to do cowellen ;)
Last week I was staying with a very tidy friend, and had weeded her veg garden. When she was inspecting the work :P she pointed out a 'missed weed' in the broadie bed and pulled it up. I had to pounce on her to stop her pulling out the rest of the broadie sprouts!  :o ;D
