HAPPY MOTHERS DAY

grotbag

busy_lizzie

Have just got back from Lunch with my children.  Had a lovely time and got some gorgeous flowers, chocolates, a sing-a-long dvd of Oklahoma. ( I am a sucker for old musicals) and a lily of the valley bulb set.  Really nice, happy family day.  Was at a lottie committee meeting this morning and even managed to do some work on my plot, and then out to lunch,  - what a perfect day and it is not over yet.   :) busy_lizzie

busy-lizzie sounds like you had/having a great day. I had a fairly quiet day, son and d-i-law came also Lorna and Joshua from next door. Middle daughter is going to visit in the week. Didn't expect eldest daughter and son-in-law, his Mum died on Thursday and I am sure he didn't feel in the mood for Mother's day.
Nice chocolates, flowers and cd's  were given. I do love carnations.
Hope every other Mum had a good day.

On Thursday I had to go to a meeting at the sixth form college and left my three at home.  I thought it strange the youngest had washed his hair but thought no more about it.  Then yesterday I received a wonderful framed photo of them all!  it was lovely.  I have been thinking for a while that it would be good to get one done before eldest goes off to uni and they had done it all by themselves!

My daughter had bought the frame and collected the prints at lunchtime and was showing her friends at college - upshot was lots of them went off to do it themselves too, should be lots of pleased Mums around like me!  It was such a lovely thoughtful present.

The photo was black and white,, they had all put their best clothes on and were all smiling - had about 50 tries apparently but that is the beauty of digital cameras.  It certainly looked as good as some taken professionally but then I am biased!

'Mother's Day' in the USA is the 2nd Sunday in May, and I'd not reminded my lot about our Mothering Sunday being imminent, so wasn't really expecting anything :-[ Went out for the afternoon and came back to a note from a neighbour telling me that flowers had been delivered......went round to collect......flowers? Stonking great big azalea bush I've got, covered with lovely lemon buds.Nice glazed container, too :D...spoke later with The Lad and the Grand......then googled for care of azaleas ;D ;D ;D

Oh Lish, wonderful!
I got thoroughly spoilt!
Was working on teh computer in the afternoon, and youngest said come here Mum, bath was drawn, with bubbles! Scented candles lit! ;D So had a lovely soak, meanwhile Eldest n Hubby were downstairs cooking me a roast chook dinner, all by themselves! :o  :o  :o
Got out of bath and youngest got out all her lotions n potions, got a back massage, and a erm, kinda facial! ;D  Few vinos, and went to bed feeling totally chilled, I didn't even have to do the washing up! ;D ;D ;D
We don't inherit the earth, we only borrow it from our children.

Hi all,
my eldest came bouncing out of nursary school on Friday with a present he had made me,
He was so excited he gave it to me immediately  ;D

when we got home he tried to open it himself so I opened it to reveal 5 wee bars of chocolate, and a card signed with an ...X...  (he tells me that is his name) ;D

He nearly had a fit when I went to eat one  ;D  Saying that they were his... he made them... ;D ;D ;D

So we compromised, OH and I got one each and he got the rest ;D ;D ;D

IT'S THE THOUGHT THAT COUNTS ;D ;D ;D
Got a box of roses on Sunday and a card,  but unfortunatly had to work, still enjoyed the time spent at home before work though ;D ;D ;D
UNDER PRESSURE (constantly)
