aha.  Interesting!  I always slow thaw mine, but more annoying that it curdling is when the bottle has split and you don't realise, and overnight, it all drip drip drips away!  Now I make sure I place it in a huge basin just in case!  No point crying after all!

A pint of double cream spilt all over the rear seat squab in the otherwise immaculate car recently.

Thanks for that article, Tim.  I can't say I ever freeze normal milk (being a skimmed milk user) so I have never really noticed this effect.  But it certainly will be filed away for future reference!
