Thyme, go into your profile and on the left hand side is a list, click Forum Profile Information, and you can add your avatar there.  Hope this helps! DP

Thyme, your avatar looks like the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia.  I did the Skyline Drive and took similar pics in October.  I will post them in The Gallery section.

Apparently, an avatar is an other worldly being - an "angel" - that appears to people and often heralds their demise...

It's from Hindu mythology and there are ten of them.   The word "avatar" is used metaphorically to represent a manifestation or embodiment to represend some idea or phrase, but when Vishnu appears as Kalki (the white horse) the 10th avatar, it means the end of the earth.

So, fess up: who's got a white horse for an avatar and who on earth decided pretty pictures that were to be used as a form of self expression in an expressionless medium were to be so called!!! :o
