I am new to this game but I think this is for swaps only but here goes. I would dearly love some Snowdrops 'in the green' for my garden so has anyone any to spare. I have only my heartfelt thanks to swap. I would be certainly pay postage. I am in the Huddersfield area. If I have broken any rules with this request I apologise now.

I have some growing in my field that I will gladly give you if you can tell me how to get them parceled up and posted to you alive?

There has to be a way because the plant magazines can manage it.

Lift them, wrap roots in damp newspaper, and post in something secure. I've had no end of plants sent to me like thart by various people.

Nice one Robert, Thanks I'll do that.

Lazy Daisy, have to work all weekend but can post you some on Monday morning, send me your address in a Personal Message if still interested and I've got tonnes of them.

One more thing Robert, will I leave them in big bunches or split them up?

Up to you; I think I'd probably split them up myself. It's best not to plant them in big bunches because the bulbs do multiply slowly, and if you start out with a big clump they're liable to get overcrowded.

Elsewhere on this site people have suggested cutting a small water bottle down one side, which can than then be taped up and bagged for posting. I can see these would make very good, cheap, light containers for posting plant material.
