Just to say Hi to you all.. and glad that at last I can join your ranks... Got a garden yesterday near Chesterfield.. just less than 1/2 mile from home.. so joys of joys.. A rectangle.. haven't even had chance to measure it yet.. and with just a sparce bit of grass on it..

Now to keep a diary and at least one set of before and after photos for you all to giggle over..

This spade thing which is the grippy handle end..?

aaaah home sweet home!  :D ( well not Ripley/Chesterfield...But lived in Bakewell for a while) went to Broomfield College too and also worked at Tansley Garden Centre , not that I can remember any of it now!, keep wandering down to plot and looking at it , but haven't attacked it yet ...( waiting for Jan pay day to buy tools!!) Good Luck..!!!

Hiya.. thanks for the welcome.. and glad I sparked a memory of the graggy county..
Got a heap of muck to put on the plot when i get a key.. and get a few areas cleared.. Got sheds on the plot I need to renovate.. so that wil be januarys wages I guess..

Going to break the grass this weekend.. and can't wait.

Svea

when you say 'garden' is it a privately rented piece of land you are going to use for veg production?

Hi Svea.. I suppose garden is just the common name we use round here.. its a council owned, parish council run site - I rent my plot.. Going to walk the dog down there this afternoon to see how long it takes on foot..
So whereabouts is your allotment?

Svea

Eyup Squire,
Where in Chesterfield is your allotment. I have one in Hasland. If you are fairly local we might meet up for a chat one day.
